Last weekend I got to go celebrate my sweet cousin and her upcoming marriage in the Houston area. Jerrod had the genius idea for us to drive to Victoria the night before and camp out at Coleto Creek Park for the weekend. It cut my drive to Houston shorter, and we have been so busy that we were so excited to get away for the weekend with our family and just unplug. We have been so busy, and we knew soccer would be starting after that weekend and the games are EVERY Saturday and Sunday until the middle of November. We had the best time hanging out by the lake. Going on “walkabouts.” A little bit of fishing mixed in. And eating. The boys were amazed by the Spanish moss growing from the trees. We went on treasure hunt walks. We hunted for shells in the lake. We napped as a family. We hung out in the camper and watched movies together. It was so nice to slow down and really be present with one another. They are my greatest accomplishment and my most precious gifts, and I am forever thankful for these memories that I was able to capture. I hope when our babies grow up that times like these will always stand out in their minds and in their hearts. Time is fleeting, and I want to savor each minute I have with them.
